Become a Judge
Judges are integral to the cheerleading program and are needed for all ACA sanctioned competitions.. Please see below for the requirements of becoming a judge.

Initial Certification
General Requirments
a. Must be in Grade 12 or older and have some background in cheerleading, dance or gymnastics to begin judges' training.
b. Must submit an online application to the ACA.
Judges' Clinic
a. Must attend judges' clinic.
Examination
a. Must pass judging exam for each category (i.e. school, all star or pom/dance) you wish to be certified in and need scores to be within acceptable ranges.
Internship
a. May be required to intern as a performance judge at one competition arranged prior to the event with the ACA and the competition director. (All score sheets will be turned in to the ACA Competition Director for evaluation and feedback. If the internship is not successful, you may be assigned to another intern experience.)
Certification Renewal
a. Must attend one judges' refresher clinic per year.
b. Must pass judging exam for each category (i.e. school, all star or pom/dance) you wish to be certified in and need scores to be within acceptable ranges.
Criteria for Head/Safety Judges
a. By invitation only.
b. Must have previous judging experience.
c. Must attend one judges' clinic per year
d. Must pass judging exam for each category (i.e. school, all star or pom/dance) you wish to be certified in and need scores to be with acceptable ranges.
e. Must pass written/video skills test with 80% or better
